Goodyear Extends Oosterland Support

Oosterland Youth Centre in Despatch, a safe haven for 120 children
found in need by the Children’s Court since 1980, celebrates its
30-year anniversary this year. Joining in the celebration Goodyear
South Africa reaffirmed its commitment to supporting their worthwhile
effort by again investing in the centre.
Goodyear’s
contribution provides 30 children with school clothing, food
parcels, education and therapeutic services. “We are proud to invest in
the lives of the children and to monitor their progress, highlights and
accomplishments. Together with Oosterland we are committed to building
a brighter future for the children and sharing in this privilege,” says
Lize Hayward, Goodyear Group Public Relations Manager.
“Over the past 30 years Oosterland’s children have served as an
inspiration to all of us on how to face fears and setbacks in life.
We’ve also come to realise that possibilities are unlimited – but that
one needs investors to believe in the impossible and that anything is
possible if one can set one’s mind to it. Goodyear
is one such
investor, who for the past decade believed in making a difference in
the lives of our children”, says Oosterland Director Riaan Marais.
