Perkins a.k.a Mike Naicker is one of South Africa’s most talented
comedians, and will be bringing his classic Indian character, Mike
Naicker, back to The
Boardwalk on 08 and 09 May.
Michael Naicker, or ‘Super Mike’, to his friends, is the super-cool,
rebel-without-a-clue, South African Indian comedy character, and is
said to be Kevin Perkins’ alter-ego.
Perkins first cracked
the comedy circuit in 2002 when he performed at
South Africa’s premium comedy event, the Heavyweight Jam. The audience
loved his South African Indian Character, Mike Naicker, and since then
he has played to hundreds of sold out audiences in South Africa and
abroad.
“Mike is a working class Indian male. He loves fast cars, big sound
systems, gambling, hot food and hot women. He fancies himself as a bit
of a gangster and a ladies’ man and is very cocky and assertive,” says
Perkins.
“I’ve always had a knack for making people laugh,” he says. “My mother
remembers fetching me from nursery school one day. She found me
standing on a table in front of the teachers, telling them a very
‘adult’ joke, which they were all enjoying.
The show will include some of Perkins’ mainstream comedy as well as the
antics of Michael Naicker. The show is
restricted to over-18’s only.
