Online Directory Works!
www.MyPE.co.za: The MyPE Business Directory has been taking a bit of a
battering lately what with a particularly irate business owner
demanding that we remove comments that were made about his business and
me trying to explain that the only way to negate those negative
sentiment is with positive ones. And then, blow me over with a
feather, he tells me in the same breath that he gets up to TWENTY (20)
emails a week from his MyPE detail page sent by potential clients
looking for quotations. The fact that his business name and a link to
his business detail page on MyPE comes up as the FIRST result in all
search engines may have something to do with that!
Now there was a potential client that I had to refuse advertising money
from, whilst we wait for the potential conflict of interest to fade of
away.
Couple that with the fact that even although some Port Elizabeth
businesses acknowledge that they get business from MyPE they still
elect to spend their online advertising rands elsewhere – go figure.
So, with this background of fences and obstacles I was MOST pleased
to see a forum post titled; Online
Directory Works! by Edeni,
who is a long time stalwart of the MyPE forum – go ahead and give the
post a READ.
Also had a chat to long time contributor Coetzee Gouws who alerted me
to the fact that a keyword search for ‘communications port elizabeth‘ in
the search engines brings up his detail page on MyPE as the first
result. And then he alerted me to a use for the MyPE business Directory
that was simple in it’s brilliance by saying; “The next business I start I will
list on MyPE, and pay the R25.00 per month for a premium link as then I
will have a presence on the web that meets most business people’s needs
in that the contact details, description, directions, feedback and
ratings as well as an e-mail contact form are all in one easily
accessible place!“
At the same time we are looking for some feedback as to how you would
like to have the present comments section ‘jazzed’ up a bit so that it
satisfies consumer, business and browser alike. Pop along to this forum

We have made some subtle initial changes to the MyPE Business
Directory and think that you will be pleased.
