Successful Warriors Season Results in Additional R8.7 Million

www.MyPE.co.za:
Cricket Eastern Cape and General
Motors
today announced the signing of
a further 3 year sponsorship of the successful Warriors Cricket team
worth R8.7 million.

The Chevrolet
Warriors
represent the successful hopes and dreams of the
Eastern Cape population as they ‘carry the can’ for all sporting codes
having been the most successful sporting code this decade. The Warriors
won both the MTN40 and Standard Bank Pro20 titles last year vindicating
themselves of all the ‘doubting Thomases and Murrays’.

Average attendance figures at the short versions of the game show the
Eastern Cape side streets ahead of their nearest rivals and in the top
spot, in the Pro20 competition, with 10 359 spectators on average at
each game. The home games played by the Warriors alternate 50 / 50
between the Port Elizabeth and East London venues.

Present at the signing was Chevrolet Brand Manager for GM South Africa,
Tim Hendon, who said; “Chevrolet is delighted to extend the association
with the Chevrolet Warriors for a further three year period. The
winning culture of the Chevrolet Warriors has led to considerable
success on the sportsfield in the last three years. We are confident
that the Warriors will continue their winning ways as we enter this new
period of partnership.”

The gentleman that we all aspire to emulate, Dave Emslie said; “Our
association with Chevrolet is one that is envied by many in the sports
industry. Not only do we have a sponsor who is willing to put money
into the franchise but they are also great partners in activating this
sponsorship. A significant activation programme is put together each
year which allows the team to interact with fans around the country. We
look forward to another great season with Chevrolet.”

Commenting on the past three years of sponsorship Tim Hendon observed
that; “The growth in the awareness of the Chevrolet
Warriors
brand has
exceeded our expectations in terms of our return on investment,” adding
that; “…the more you win, the more exposure you get.”
