Finding a little time on my hands I had a look at the MyPE web site
traffic statistics. Now I will be the first one to tell you that when
it comes to statistics most of the time it is lie, lie, lie. Web site
owners will create the impression that they get far more traffic than
everyone else by quoting hits and page views in preference to Unique
Visitors - a unique visit is from ONE I.P. address every 24 hours. Am I
lying when I tell you that MyPE is edging tantalisingly close to the 4
000 unique visitors per day mark?
Another measure of whether a web site is fulfilling it’s promise of
satisfying the needs of the niche market that it serves is measured by
the number of visits referred to it by the Search Engines. And, even
more telling, the types of keyword searches that bring visitors to the
web site. If the web site is supposedly about Port Elizabeth but
doesn’t bring any relevant amounts of traffic to it then what is the
point?
At the end of this article I have produced a list of the top
120 of the 119 402 search
terms typed into a Search Engine and bringing visitors
to MyPE. If you click on each of the Search Terms you will see the
actual www.MyPE.co.za
pages as indexed on Google.
The net savvy person will check to see if his or her business is listed
as a search term and contact Janine to explore further opportunities on
MyPE (like free advertising in return for placing a MyPE search box on
your site).
