Wild to the Extreme
www.MyPE.co.za: The
action at the Absa Kirkwood Wildlife Festival promises to be as wild as
the game that will be on auction.
A lineup of extreme things to do and see will get visitors’ adrenaline
pumping.
An extreme sky-diving show features aircraft flying at only 2500 feet
above ground. The skydivers exit the aircraft and do a short freefall
for only five seconds before they deploy their parachutes and manoeuvre
down to earth, ending with a spectacular swooping and accurate landing.
This aerial entertainment will be carried out by the company Aerial FX,
performing over 1500 aerial displays in ten years. Sky-divers from
Aerial FX have accurately landed on remarkable locations such as a
floating pontoon in the Durban harbour, on the Pretoria State Theatre
roof on inauguration day, on the Johannesburg’s Nelson Mandela Bridge,
and at the 1995 World Cup Rugby final at Ellis Park.
“Come see what daring landing Aerial FX will attempt in Kirkwood on
Saturday at around 13h00,” says Kirkwood Wildlife Festival director
Jenni Honsbein.
Visitors who want to experience aerial adrenaline excitement themselves
can climb into the bungee rocket. This exciting ride shoots riders 50m
into the air, accelerating from 0-100km/h in one second!
The rest of the public who enjoy to keep a steady heart rate will enjoy
the dozens of things to do at the festival with their feet planted
firmly on the ground. These include hundreds of stalls to peruse, the
Eastern Cape’s biggest car and wine expo and live game auction, plus
top-quality South African entertainment of which Steve Hofmeyer, Eden,
DJ Ossewa, Mean Mr Mustard and many others are part.
