Wow Comedy Jam Funnymen at Amphitheatre this Friday Four
of South Africa’s top comedians will be performing live at The
Boardwalk this Friday, 4 September.

One of the favourites from the Eastern Cape is Ndumiso Lindi who will
share the stage with Cape Town’s Kurt Schoonraad and Al Prodgers.

Ndumiso Lindi hails from Zwelitsha near King William’s Town in the
Eastern Cape. Lindi kicked off his comedic career when he entered the
Vodacom Comedy Campus Tour whilst studying in Cape Town in 2004. Since
then, he has become a regular on the South African comedy scene. His
unique take on the everyday lives of the new generation of black
youngsters captures audiences country-wide.

“Comedy is my voice, comedy is my expression,” he says. Lindi has
previously performed at The Boardwalk with the 99% Xhosa
Comedy Show.

Al ProdgersAl Prodgers is a big
name in local and international comedy circles. In
2002, he hosted the comedy festival, “Stand up South Africa” in London
and received rave reviews for his portrayal of his “homeland” to
intrigued international spectators and homesick expatriates alike. He
has also appeared on Comedy Showcase and The Barry Hilton Show.
Prodgers also plays the role of “Maxime” in Generations.

According to his website, Prodgers achieved notable success as a
finalist at the Yuk Yuks Great Canadian Laugh Off (2007). The
international comedy competition was held in Toronto and Prodgers made
it through to the final eight. He was the only non-Canadian that made
it that far.

Kurt SchoonraadHailing from
Mitchell’s Plain, Kurt Schoonraad is one of Cape Town’s
favourite comedians and his earthy humour makes him a true South
African. His clean, appealing humour focuses on the diversity of South
Africa’s rainbow nation and its different cultures.

Audiences may recognise him from TV’s “Going Nowhere Slowly” and his
stint as host of the popular series, Comedy Showcase on SABC.

Another top South African name, John Vlismas, will be the MC of the
show. Vlismas has performed in centres worldwide including Berlin,
Dubai, London and Canada. In 2006 he produced and headlined Have a
Heart (HAH) in aid of Child Welfare Johannesburg. In 2002, he hosted
and co-produced the largest ever stand up comedy event seen in South
Africa, Laugh Out Loud; which played to 7000 people.
